Can Robots Save the Earth?

2/22/2021

Click on this link to watch a short video about "Sea Swarm."

Does this sound possible, or does it sound more like a science fiction movie?

Watch the video again, then answer these questions.

  • How much of an oil spill can workers (people) clean up and remove using the current methods?
  • How much can these new robots clean up?
  • How do the robots "talk" to each other?
Now write a short paragraph talking about your thoughts and feelings about this project. Do you have any ideas of how this kind of technology can be used to solve other problems?

You are creating a logo to identify you and your artwork & designs. How does that process play out? Usually it starts with an idea. maybe something scribbled on a McDonalds' napkin, but you need to verbalize the image, text and color components you utilized to bring your idea to life.

Here's the story as created in PowerPoint and exported as an mp4
Below is the PowToon story...

People call them shooting stars, but are they really stars? Why are there so many of them coming in the next two days? How much stuff is actually hitting the Earth? How do we track all that junk, and why would we want to?

Click HERE to read the original NASA article written by Karen Fox. This article is also the source of the beautiful image at left.

The Moon is amazing. Luna, as she was called by the Romans, is said to make people crazy (ever heard of a  Lunatic?). But who could say he or she could look at a big full moon and not feel some stirring of your imagination.

Click here to see an awesome moon viewer. You can change settings to see what the moon looks like from Earth, from the Sun, or other aspects. Click on View from Earth, and make sure the date is set for today. Is it a full moon or a new moon? What's the difference? When is the next time we will see the moon looking like this?

This isn't just a pretty picture from space. That swirly stuff in the water is a signal that summer is here. Why is that important?
